I spent much of my pre-academic adult life self-employed as a DJ.
In 2001 alongside four partners I opened a clubnight in Leeds called Technique, which became one of the most renowned and successful in Europe for electronic music. I performed extensively throughout the UK, abroad in Japan, Spain, Poland, and Slovenia, at festivals including Glastonbury, KazanTip in Ukraine, and Lake of Stars in Malawi.
I also produced my own music, releasing singles between 2007 and 2009 which received airplay on BBC Radio 1.
More recently, during the pandemic I hosted a show called the A-Series on our lockdown station, Better Days FM, and have continued making bi-monthly A-Series DJ mixes ever since.
